PARALEGAL MANAGER
California - Menlo Park
McDermott Will & Emery, a leading international law firm, is currently seeking a Paralegal Manager to join our Silicon Valley office. This position will be responsible for the management of Paralegals and Case Assistants in the IP litigation, trial and transactional practice areas. Management responsibilities include overall case management, workflow management and work assignments, establishing training programs, personnel management (i.e. scheduling time off, review of weekly time records), and performance management (i.e. written evaluations as well as conducting performance reviews). Additionally, this position will have an annual minimum billable requirement and will be required to provide paralegal support to include participating in case review and strategy meetings; all phases of the discovery process; maintaining litigation schedules, electronic databases, case files, and eRooms; drafting production and privilege/redaction logs, researching and/or cite-checking legal briefs and memoranda; organizing, analyzing and updating key document compilations; assisting at client presentations, depositions, hearings and trials.
Qualified candidates must have the following:
Minimum 5 years of direct personnel management experience; 7-10 years of paralegal/case management experience.
Law firm experience required.
Superior technology skills in the use of MS Office Suite, CaseMap, Concordance/IPro, eRoom, Excel, Edgar, etc.
The ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish and maintain confidentiality and effective working relationships with colleagues, attorneys, clients, vendors and the public.
Ability to work overtime in order to perform the essential duties of the position. Work may require irregular hours and travel.
Paralegal Certification and Bachelor's Degree required.
